* Reverse group with 4 drops of patient plasma and 1 drop of red cells, incubated at RT.

RT - room temperature IS- immediate spin
** according to transfusion service SOP
The following enhancement was done:
* Reverse group with 2 drops of patient plasma and 1 drop of red cells, incubated at 4° C for 15 minutes
|Controls - ABO grouping|
|Cells*||RT - IS||4° C - 15'|
|Screen Cell 1||0||0|
|Screen Cell 2||0||0|
|Screen Cell 3||0||0|
* The autocontrol can detect if a cold autoantibody such as autoanti-I is present (which would react with both A1 and B cells). The group O screen cells is included to detect possible cold-reactive alloantibodies such as anti-N, -P1, and -Lea (whose corresponding antigens may be present on either or both of the A1 and B cells).
The patient's ABO group was determined to be group B.
