Summary of Initial Panel and Phenotyping
Mrs D.M. has a known anti-Jka. The initial panel did not exclude anti-E, -c, -K, -Fya, -Fyb, -M, -S, and -Leb. Her red cells phenotype as D+C+E-c-e+ (probable R1R1), K-, Fy(a+), Jk(a-).
Note: Looking at the results of the initial panel and Mrs. D.M.'s phenotyping, anti-E and anti-c seem to be real possibilities. This hypothesis needs to be confirmed by further testing (antibody exclusions). Anti-Fya is excluded based on phenotype.
Exclusion Panel: Self Test
- In the exclusion cell panel above, a cell positive for the Jka antigen has been set up. What is the rationale for setting up this cell?
Six cells have been tested either to confirm or to exclude the "not ruled out" antibodies. Decide which antibody that each cell is meant to confirm or to exclude and then click on the six question mark (?) buttons to test your choices.
Clicking on the question marks reveals the answers.
- Which antibodies have been confirmed by the exclusion cells? Is the p value at least 0.05 for each antibody?
