Summary of Panel 1 and Panel 2

Probable antibodies: anti-C and anti-Jk^a

Note: Looking at the results of Panel 1 and 2 together, these two antibodies produce the best fit to explain the reaction patterns in both panels. This hypothesis needs to be confirmed by further testing (antibody exclusions).

Antibodies not ruled out: anti-K, anti-Fy^a, and anti-M

Self Test

In the exclusion cell panel above, cells positive for C and Jk^a antigens have been set up. What is the rationale for setting up positive controls in selected cell panels?
