Because it is from a donor who appears to be homozygous for Fya, the cell can exclude anti-Fya.

Note: If the donor was African-American, it is possible that the donor is only heterozygous, i.e., the genotype may be FyaFy, since the Fy gene is common in African-Americans. However, in this case there are no donor antigen phenotypes to suggest this heritage, e.g., the donor is not Js(a+).
